Altum worked closely with Architect Dan Sparks to create a building that was on-brief in terms of civic functionality while also standing as a showpiece for the council’s sustainable ambitions – The site is a prominent landmark in Peregian Beach and a display of strong community pride. It embodies the modern, forward-thinking aspirations of the area, while staying architecturally true to its relaxed beachside location. It was both the cutting edge design and sustainable features of the community house that earned Altum Constructions two gongs at the 2010 Queensland State Awards for Sustainable Architecture.
Master Builders also awarded the company with a Sporting and Community Services Facilities Award. They note that what was so impressive was the high quality of craftsmanship and innovation, delivered on a tiny budget.
